what 13 years of entrepreneurship has taught me

i was recently asked what 13 years of entrepreneurship has taught me and i’d like to share it with you (in this 3 minute and 45-second video).

it covers why:

-defining success for myself is essential and non-negotiable

-it wasn’t a simple or straightforward journey

-in the early years, i let other people’s metrics of success to be what i chased and i went into autopilot mode

-each metric i’d hit, i’d feel empty

-each goal to reach became the baseline from which to leap and how it became a never-ending cycle

-i had to ultimately ask myself, ‘at what cost am i creating this growth?’

-it cost me everything i said i valued

-it wasn’t worth it to keep going down that path

-i learned a lot from it and don’t regret it

-i now approach it quite differently

-time freedom and sharing my gifts are key

-using my values as my barometers for decision-making was a gamechanger

-design your life, build a business to fund it, and a network to support it is my core philosophy

what are your biggest lessons so far and how do they impact your steps as you go forward?

to looking back for the lessons,
