What 13 Years Of Entrepreneurship Has Taught Me
I was recently asked what 13 years of entrepreneurship has taught me and I’d like to share it with you (in this 3 minute and 45-second video).
It covers why:
-defining success for myself is essential and non-negotiable
-it wasn’t a simple or straightforward journey
-in the early years, I let other people’s metrics of success to be what I chased and I went into autopilot mode
-each metric I’d hit, I’d feel empty
-each goal to reach became the baseline from which to leap and how it became a never-ending cycle
-I had to ultimately ask myself, ‘at what cost am I creating this growth?’
-it cost me everything I said I valued
-it wasn’t worth it to keep going down that path
-I learned a lot from it and don’t regret it
-I now approach it quite differently
-time freedom and sharing my gifts are key
-using my values as my barometers for decision-making was a gamechanger
-design your life, build a business to fund it, and a network to support it is my core philosophy
What are your biggest lessons so far and how do they impact your steps as you go forward?
